Constitution
of the Indiana Cave Conservation Association
Article
1:
The
name of the organization shall be the Indiana Cave Conservation
Association.
A:
With the development of the Indiana Cave Conservation Association, the
Indiana Spelunker’s Society, Inc. dissolves, and, shall donate all material
held by it’s officers and members to the Indiana Cave Conservation
Association, to become real property of the Indiana Cave Conservation
Association.
Article
2:
The
Purpose of the Indiana Cave Conservation Association is to help educate, and
help eliminate cave vandalism and desecration, To database all cave/pit finds,
to survey when possible new caves, to create activities (Cave Trips / Camping
Trips / Cave Digs /Outings) for our members, and to maintain as accurate as
possible all records containing Indiana Cave information.
Although
the Indiana Cave Conservation Association focuses mainly on the caves/pits
located within Indiana, we will not limit ourselves or our group to activities
only in Indiana.
Article 3:
The organization shall be headed by an executive board consisting of 5 Officers,
with 1alternate officer (Youth Board Member) who will help officers in any means
necessary to serve our group purpose.
The 5 Officers of the
Indiana Cave Conservation Association shall be:
President / Vice-President / Treasurer / Relations / Board Member
Article
4:
An
officer may be impeached from office in any 1 of 2 ways. First, is by a majority
officer vote among all officers including Board Member, Second is by a decision
made from the Grievance Referee, with the Indiana Cave Conservation Associations
Presidents Approval.
The
President may only be impeached by a majority vote among all members of the
organization including the vote of the officers.
Article
5:
Officers
shall be elected every 2 years. Terms will begin with the fiscal year (April 1st
of each year). Elections shall be conducted prior to March 15th of
each year.
In the
event an office becomes vacant during any portion of a term, then a “temporary
replacement” person shall be appointed by the joint agreement of the President
and Vice-President. This person will hold that office until the next regular
election.
In the
event the President or Vice-President’s office shall become vacant, then the
remaining officers shall put together an emergency election, and a new President
or Vice-President shall be voted for by the existing membership.
Article
6:
The
executive board shall conduct no less than 4 meetings per year. Meeting place /
date / and time shall be determined by the President, or Vice-President with no
less than a 2 week notice to all officers and 1 week notice to existing
membership.
In the
event of a cancelled meeting, the President shall determine a new meeting place
/ time and date, and will notify all officers with no less than a 1 week notice,
and the Board Member shall notify all other members of the organization.
Article
7:
In the
event the Indiana Cave Conservation Association dissolves, then all Files shall
become property of the officer holding that information. Any equipment owned by
the Indiana Cave Conservation Association will be given away to the existing
membership in a fair and orderly fashion (Names placed into a hat and drawn for
each piece of equipment). Treasury held will be donated to the National
Speleological Society (a non-profit organization), and shall be used for Cave
Conservation.
This constitution enacted this 7 th day of April , in the year of 1999.
